Modding question
-
First of all IDK if this is the right category so sorry for that.
I know how to mod and stuff but I would love to mod SP but at the same time be able to play multiplayer without having the mods/texturepacks enabled. Before I start modding again I would love to know how I can do that.

@Aprath when using OpenIV to install your mods, you'll be prompted to use something called a "mods" folder. This will keep your mods separated from the original game files, so you can easily toggle between the two. Here are more details about the process: http://openiv.com/?p=1132

@rappo But the folder isnt there now? Ive had it before, I even tried to verify game files?
-
@Aprath Sorry, not sure what you're asking. The link I provided shows how to enable and disable the mods folder.
-
@rappo How do I use the modding folder when I have to replace something in for example x64a.rpf?
-
@Aprath When you go into x64a you'll get an alert that says you're not using the mods folder, click the alert to use it, and the entire folder gets copied over, so you can replace whatever files you want without touching the original game files.
If you want to do it manually, the link I gave above describes exactly how to do that.
-
@rappo I didnt understand totally, can I just drag the folder into mods?
-
@rappo
????????
-
@Aprath x64a gets copied into the 'Mods' folder. The copy is what you edit - the one in the 'Mods' folder.
The original x64a (i.e the one outside of the 'Mods' folder) should be left alone.
If the alert that @rappo told you about does not show up, then you can right click the x64a file and click the Copy to "mods" folder option to copy it over.

@GTATerminal So from what I read I have to copy and paste, at least what I understood. But just the ¨update¨ one to be pasted into ¨mods¨ will take 12gb more.
-
@Aprath Well, that's a sacrifice you're just gonna have to make if you want to mod the game and not get banned.
