Raw 3D Model from Project Cars (NASCAR)
-
@LeeC2202 are you ripping it by running the game or what?
-
@FoxtrotDelta I have used QuickBMS to extract the data from the pak files. The same script for NFS Shift also works on pCars.
Edit: Hmmm... maybe it's the bml reading that isn't working. I am trying to load a single meb file and that is making Max react slightly differently. This is probably just a case of me being a ripping/importing noob.

Hmmm, I think I see the problem. The extracted files contain what I presume are material files (.bmt files) that contain information including a texture name. The texture name in those, doesn't match the texture names that the extractor created, so maybe they all have to be renamed... that seems like a whole bunch of fun.
That reminds me of the way ETS2 worked, which stored the texture names inside a secondary file.
I would have thought though that if it couldn't get a texture, it would have still generated a mesh but it doesn't seem to be the case. Looks like it's an all or nothing situation... so far.
Anyway, I'll stop rambling... this thread seems to be solved and now it's just being derailed by me talking about something irrelevant.

@LeeC2202 sorry I have no experience in extracting a file, in only ripped them always.

I would surely love to see NASCAR cars in GTA V. Especially the #24 Jeff Gordon's skin. I know it's Chase Elliot but I'll rather stick to Jeff since that his iconic number.
