How to make textures in zmodeler smaller?
-
I have been having a problem with texturing in zmodeler. The textures always come out blown up and it just does not look right. How do I make the textures smaller and repeating like normal? Here is an example see how the suede texture looks really blown up and covers the entire roof. Also if you look at the seats they should be gray with tiny "holes" (perforated leather) instead its gray with a few big holes

@maybach123 Have a look for something to do with Tiling in the material properties.
Textures that tile usually have to fill the full texture space if they tile in the U and V direction, but you can get away with them being just the full width for U tiling, or full height for V tiling.
The higher the tiling number, the smaller the details will appear.

@LeeC2202 where do I find the tiling option?
-
@maybach123 Did you look in the Material Properties for the material that has that texture?
-
@LeeC2202 I found it thanks! it looks much better now

@LeeC2202 I have another problem. How do you recommend getting around the max vertices limit when attaching objects should i reduce the vertices or do something else?
-
@maybach123 I know pretty much zero about ZM3 I am afraid. I only knew what to suggest with your first question through using 3DS Max. I have literally just started my first ever conversion and it is going very, very slowly.
You're going to need one of the ZM3 gurus to help you out with this one, sorry.

no problem thanks for the help on the previous question though!

@FoxtrotDelta would you know the answer to the question above?
-
@maybach123 what material are you using ? i mean what material adaptation? for that roof.
could be spec map, burn map texture error or wrong material adaptation. usually for inside seats. we use, interior1 or interior 2 material adaptation.plus for vertices limit. you can choose optimize tool it works on both polygons and vertices.
-
@FoxtrotDelta thanks for the answer to the vertices limit. I ended up solving the original question with the help from @LeeC2202 I just ended up using the tile values in the material browser and increasing them till it looked about right.
-
@maybach123 For the vertices limit i usually have 2 objects for it, misc_a and misc_b. If thosebare already used i go with c, d, e, f and so on
-
@AHK1221 can I do that with something that should be within the chassis?
-
@maybach123 Nothing really HAS to be within the chassis. For e.g. i keep my interior seperate.
-
@AHK1221 Yeah I probably should have done that to begin with. Thanks for the advice I will probably make the details misc_a
