[VEHICLE][WIP] Buick Roadmaster 1996

  • So, here's what I've been up to lately:

Original model is by schaefft, of course converted with permission. Even though these are older pictures, the car is as good as done, if it wasn't for one problem: https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/9761/problem-with-dials

Maybe some of you could help me out on this, I really don't know what to do anymore and this is the only thing that's keeping me from releasing it. Anyways, comments to the car are much appreciated aswell :)

    Thanks for checking this out!

  • At last! Looking forward to driving it. Good luck with the last finishing touches! :)

There's probably some like @AHK1221 eg

  • @Chezy Can you show me how your dials material looks like in the material editor?

Sure! So, here's the general view of the material in the material editor:

And here's the whole material properties window of the dials material (sorry for the long picture)

  • @Chezy Can you show me your hierarchy too? Also, have you edited vehicles.meta so that it is set to VDT_CAVALCADE?

    Sure, here's the hierarchy:

And yes, I changed it to VDT_CAVALCADE, and I changed the entry down at the bottom:

I also searched every of the 40+ vehicles.meta files for Stanier and edited the necessary lines in the two vehicle.meta files that contained the car, just to make sure that I changed the updated version.

  • @Chezy Wow, this is very strange...The texture is showing up, so there's that. Can you show your whole vehicles.meta file?

  • @Chezy wait.. are you replacing a vehicle? Because sometimes, replacing messes up dials for whatever reason. Try making an addon because that is what most people use. Its convenient, too.

Oh, really? I actually replaced the Stanier because I thought it was easier that way with the dials :D Didn't know it could mess up the dials. Alright then, I will quickly prepare an Addon version and then report if it's working or not. Thank you so much for your help so far!

  • @Chezy Great full size sedan! About dials, you say that you embedded dials texture to your model, i dont recommend to make this, because zmod/openiv can recompress texture to another format (if im not mistake, dials texture must be compressed to a8r8g8b8 dds texture). And you even dont need to include dials texture to .ytd, because vehicle.meta lines tell game, where dials texture placed. Also, dials have LOD 1?

Thanks! Alright, I will try this, too. How do I get the texture out of the model though? For some reason, it still gets embedded into stanier_hi.yft, even after deleting it from the texture manager.

// Nevermind, just had to reload the zMod file. It's finally working! Thank you guys so much, @AHK1221 and @Yarm1995 and of course @Vans123 who helped me in the other thread. Can't wait to finally release this car!
