If you want to know if dinput8.dll is working or not, check the asiloader.log file (I think that's what it is named) which is created by it.

We're all using the same version from 2015:

// GTA V ASI LOADER (build May 2 2015) // (C) Alexander Blade 2015 LIB: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\dinput8.dll" => 00007FF8617F0000

And whatever Windows tells you, it's not the one from system32, but the one from your GTA root. And it should not be touched, or updated.

Thanks for the advice Simone 2R. I've just been in Open IV, and selected Edit Mode, then my mods folder as you suggested. The only thing resembling a green strip I can see is a green arrow pointing to the right. To clarify, is that what you mean, because when I selected that, all I get now is a black screen, although the music is still playing in the background for a while before the game crashes. I'm afraid I'm still a little "raw" when it comes to using Open IV, I'm afraid.

It sounds exactly like the symptoms I experienced once after I updated the game to 1439 version.

Having said that, my guess is that you have modified some game files outside the "mods" folder.

This is what I (stupidly) did prior to 1439 update. I modded some files inside the original archive instead of keeping it separate in the "mods" folder. Then, the game wouldn't run at all.

Hi all,

Just a quick update. I am happy to say that I have solved my problem. The game loads fine and all my mods work fine. Below is the process I used.

Update ScripthookV to the latest version. Completely uninstall GTA V. You can leave all your mods/Save Games where they are. Reinstall the game from scratch.

When loading the game again, you should see Build 1365, which is the latest version of ScripthookV

@AGLGTA5M1 Do you use shortcuts to your songs or the song files themselves? Having the actual song files can cause problems if you have too many in the user folder. Shortcuts work fine tho

reinstalled the game and it all worked ,apparently some mod installed not in the folder 'Mods'
