@k6design said in buggy, incomplete mods:
nice. blame me because your reporting system sucks. if it worked, if there was any feedback from it, maybe I and others would use it. honestly, if you know the batteries are dead, would you keep turning it and off to see if it might magically work ?
Any reason why you think it doesn't work? We deal with reports every day. Most reports, however, are just plain stupid or fake. E.g. "crashes game", "not work", "gay", "how install", "is this work for pirate game?", and the list goes on.
the simple fact is, you couldn't keep up with the mods being uploaded ( as evidenced by the amount of complaints from authors waiting to get there projects approved ) thusly you implemented the "auto update" and opened the floodgates to a whole new level of shite mods.
That is completely untrue. Most people who complain that their mods haven't been approved yet didn't even upload a file or have no patience at all. Not even 1 or 2 hours. Or the author didn't provide any information about what the mod does, screenshots, etc., and one of the moderators dealt with other files first.
here is an example of the crap I'mtalking about

if you take the time to read the comments/complaints you'll see the authors attitude sucks and the list of people reporting or complaining has been growing for a long time. why has nothing been done about it ? even the author admits it's broken, but his response "I don't have time to fix it" .. this is squarely on administration, not the users.
I haven't seen one report for that file during the past few months. How would we do anything about this if nobody reports it? Ah, yes, because you think you would "waste your time"...
