A 970 will handle VisualV, NVR, and RadianceV together without a problem. The bottleneck becomes your actual in game graphics and visual settings.

RE: Mods not working
Have you tried running the game as vanilla and then making sure every mod is up to date and then adding them one at a time to see if/when they stop working? Might be missing SHV or something and not realize it.

RE: Play GTAV Online with mods installed
The previous comment is a great solution. Another one is to run two copies of GTAV and rename the folders so that you've one just for modded story mode and one left vanilla for Online only, just add a tag to the end of both and remove it for the one you want to run and so on.

RE: Crashing game
Easy.. you disable all of the mods and then re-add them one at a time until it stops working to narrow down the conflict. Mine runs with mods just fine, granted it's only scripts and nothing in the mods folder (not rebuilt it yet), but it works

RE: GTA V Online in Singleplayer
Try checking the forums since it's been asked before and has gotten replies with a lot of good mods mentioned.

RE: HELP! My scripthookv.dll is not the latest according to the latest patch?!
@Raranoobster said in HELP! My scripthookv.dll is not the latest according to the latest patch?!:
Oh well, i guess we will have to wait for Dev-C to come out with the new update within the next few days or so...
Days without mods are boring
That's why you back up your files and then roll back your game to the previous patch while mod authors update their code to work on the latest one

RE: script hook v
It'll be ready when it's ready and not before. AB has a website where he hosts the file. Just check it after ~ 5 days and then every other day after that. It could be a couple days, might be 2 weeks. it's done in that person's spare time without obligation to anyone.

RE: Im new to this
How about using the official FiveM support forums instead where the people there have more experience? Not trying to be salty, but going to the corresponding support forums would be the better bet.

RE: *GAME CRASHING* Update 09092020 game version 1.0.2060.2 - ScriptHookV 1.0.2060 outdated
It's hit or miss due to R*'s devs, but I can sometimes take my PC offline and launch Steam in offline mode and launch it. Sometimes works and sometimes did not.

Worse yet, the ScripthookV author never provides a release date or gives us any information on SHV. I hate having to wait indefinitely with no idea how long I'll have to wait. We have perfect reason to be impatient when the people keeping us waiting refuse to update us or say anything.
Alexander Blade has Zero obligation to us or anyone else. If they choose to keep updating SHV or decide "fuck it!" and walk away because of shit like this, then they are fully within their rights to go either way.

@IreBurn I also saw it there and from their newswire. Prices are still stupidly high, but some of the new items look pretty nice.

Jesus Christ, you're completely rolling over for them and it's sad. And if you don't think this stuff has serious implications, look at what John Deere is trying to do with right-to-repair on tractors. It's putting small family farms out of business entirely.
First, John Deere and the right to repair is so far from the same ballpark as a video game that this analogy is absurd at best. I stand behind the right to repair. The basis of your argument about ownership is akin to saying that you bought a DVD of a movie, therefore you have the "right" to make illegal copies and sell them because you "own" the movie. No. you own a copy of the movie. The studio owns the movie and retains all rights therein. The same applies for games. The development studios own the game and all trademarks, etc. while we as consumers get a license for a single copy and must abide by the EULA that No One bothers to read or follow once they install and use the proprietary software that it comes with (including Windows).
If you want 100% freedom to do whatever you want, go support F.O.S.S. programs, OSes, etc. where you as the user have the control.
Also, I'm not a shill for R*, but nice try. I was one of the many that signed the various petitions and sent hate mail to Take Two Interactive (R*'s parent company) to get them to change their mind on the Cease & Desist legal order they put out on OpenIV (which includes SHV).

RE: script hook v critical error can't be fixed
Not quite wrapping my mind around the entitlement of "wish they would warn you before an update and let you hold off on it". I mean this is why we make backups and downgrade.
Why would they "warn" anyone that an update is on the way? It's not like the game is an enterprise-grade piece of software where an update could take down half of the company if it's not done right.
R* owns the game pure and simple. All we're doing is enjoying it in a way they did not fully intend but have not yet put a permanent stop to (remember the T2 C&D the OpenIV team got a few years back?). Just relax, enjoy the game, and make backups to roll it back with. -
RE: (Unconfirmed) Rockstar Launcher blocking rollbacks?
I just put my system, and subsequently Steam, in offline/airplane mode and launch the game. It may take an attempt or two but it does the job just fine. Once the game is up, I turn off airplane mode but Steam is still in offline mode so I can still use things like Discord or whathaveyou, just not the shift-tab shortcut for the Steam overlay as when it's in offline mode it won't load up the browser there. I can just alt-tab to the desktop though for that

RE: GTA V CRASHING AFTER SUMMER UPDATE (EG version)
Of course it doesn't work. Your game is running the newest files, except SHV has not been updated, so the mods won't run. This happens every single time R* releases a new update and why making backups of the game files the update replaces so you can roll back is important.
Nothing to do until the new SHV releases so you can re-do your mods that you broke by telling OIV to reset your mods folder.tldr: user error that only time/patience will fix.

RE: Beware August 11th!
Or just back-up your GTAV.exe and other files(not hard and it's on this forum somewhere, just search) and you'll be fine. That's what many of us do and when an update hits, we just roll back one version and keep playing story mode with mode just fine. I have several GTAV folders as well. One for story mode, one for LSPDFR, one for FiveM, and one for vanilla GTAV in order to play GTAO without getting banned for modding since all of my mods are singleplayer only and in a different folder. No bypass needed, even with DVD since the file structure is the same for both it and Steam other than where it's stored on your hard drive.

RE: the game missing textures even without mods PLZ Someone help!!
Sure, let me whip out my crystal ball...
When asking for help, having more details can help a lot for you and those you're asking for help from. Making a semi-vague post means others have to dig and it takes longer for you and us to assist. I mean, it's like pulling into a garage and saying "it doesn't work" and expecting the mechanic to magically know what you're talking about.

RE: FiveM Not running, No App Data, No nothing.
Is there anything i am missing?
Yeah, checking with FiveM official/community support Sure, some people here might know a thing or two, but like with LSPDFR, this isn't the official support channel for it. You need to try the official channels first.

@Tengerecki That's why you make backups

RE: chance for police to "recognize" you?
RDE had something that did this, though I don't know of a single script by itself right now
-
RE: Skin customizer for singleplayer?
Yes, they're called trainers (Menyoo, Simple Native Trainer to name a couple).

RE: Opening mods?
Have you tried this and this? You might find more information. Not trying to be some "RTFM" person, but reading the pinned posts before asking for help tends to either:
- A. solve the problem
or - B. helps you define more specifically the issue and make it easier for others to help you.
- A. solve the problem

RE: New to modding ?
Have you tried reading this at all? It might answer some of that.

RE: Disabling unused DLCs?
Depending what came with that DLC, you may or may not be missing some peds or spawn items/props as well iirc.
