Over the past few days, I fought hat feels like a million of people online and offline who always brought the same lineup: "But why do you protest. R* does not care about you! You are insignificant to their bottom line. just take what you get!"

Every negative Steam Review + Every negative Twitter comment + every negative News Story made TT and R* reconsider their decision.

I admit to the chances of protests to succeed are slim. But without protesting they are zero!

@krissboo I don't know, but you are probably right. The lawyers are not capable of vetting the situation on a technical level.

They get their targets from the corporate commander, so they would not have taken action if TT did not to tell them to go after OpenIV specifically.

I cannot imagine their lawyers deciding by themselves which tool to take down and which tool to keep up. TT and R* gave them a list.

Does anyone know if OpenIV will release a version that only supports everything but GTAV?

I also use it for GTAIV.

@krissboo Ok that means that the reasoning they have given is somewhat true at least.

However, since OpenIV disables itself when you go online, it shows me that TT and R* did not put a single thought into this before unleashing their lawyers or they might consider single player modding as acceptable collateral damage.

I just reinstalled GTA4 and GTA5 via Steam and I don't have a copy of OpenIV.

Can someone share it privately with me? I cannot find any torrent on this.

For GTA4 I can of course use Spark.
