@pr-boy I just installed map builder to see if I got a crash and I do crash with it in my game. I do think that is your issue as well. Also, I never recommend installing a mod using an OIV installer, too many things can go wrong if the mod author didn't do it properly and it makes it more difficult to uninstall unless you know what you are doing.

@pr-boy There is a small learning curve to using CW, but it is worth it. It is a lot easier to make things once you do get the hang of it. You can edit so much more stuff in CW, like I said you can edit vanilla mlo or addon mlo, scenarios, and a lot of other stuff I don't know about yet. I learned and still just use 3ds max and my brain to make my mlo and edit them, although I do use CW to place yft items into my mlos

Here is the link to the CW discord. You can get the latest release of it from the release channel, the version on gta5mod is not current. https://discord.gg/snSAPe

RE: issues with mlo..........posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
@pr-boy It isn't really that similar to Map Editor. You are kind of in the gta5 world when you place items, but not in the actual game, CW renders the world in. You can do soooo much more with CW though. You also have to know what you want to use, but that part isn't difficult, you can search for things in the included rpf explorer or you can search for vanilla entities (or props if you want to call them that) using OpenIV to get the names of things. You can directly make a ymap in CW so you don't have to convert a xml to ymap. And no, you don't need Map Builder to use CW. Map Builder is just more props used to make things in an incorrect way in my opinion. Making things like buildings or making terrain by putting together a bunch of props is not that great for game performance.

And to be honest, Map Editor is an outdated way to try to make things. I believe CodeWalker is a much better option for making edits or new ymaps for exterior mods. CW can also help make mlo or edit a mlo if you don't use 3ds max. And map builder is just more props, which you really don't need. Plus, don't try to make a ymap "interior" using either, because you will have issues like rain "inside" since the game only recognizes mlo as interiors.

RE: issues with mlo..........posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
@pr-boy I've been reading the comments in the Map Builder mod and there are a lot of people having crashes after installing it. I'm going to test this mod first to see if it crashes my game too.

RE: issues with mlo..........posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
@pr-boy Could be, I have never tried the Map Builder mod since I don't need it. I haven't even looked at the comments section for it to see if other people are having issues.

RE: issues with mlo..........posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
Either way, I know for a fact that ALL mlo mods do not cause crashes. But for you to not be able to have any at all without a crash, then it has to be an issue with one of those script mods. I'm leaning towards Single Player Apartment so I'm going to test that firs when I get a chance.
-
RE: issues with mlo..........posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
@pr-boy Hmm, then it must have a compatibility issue with one of them. I'll do some testing by adding each mod one at a time to my game and see what happens. But if you can't install any mlo, then one of them must have compatibility issues with all mlos, because I have a lot of mlo in my game made by myself and a few other people without issues.
You could test by removing one script mod and test until you find which one is having compatibility issues with all the mlo you want. Just depends on what you want more, a particular script mod or other mlo mods.

RE: issues with mlo..........posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
Plus when you say you tested vanilla, was that without those other mods you just listed as well or were they still in your game? Also, I'm not 100% sure but I don't think a mlo would have compatibility issues with a script mod. I remember having issues in the past with Single Player Apartment before I even made my mod.

RE: issues with mlo..........posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
@pr-boy I've checked some of the other mods you listed you have, and most are outdated on this site. Like the hkh business mega pack, did you get it from the mod author's discord or are you using the one from gta5mods? Which iv style car exit are you using, the more recent one by ikt or the old one by Driver?

RE: issues with mlo..........posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
@pr-boy You must have another issue. I extensively tested my mlo on a clean install and with Enable all interiors mod to enable mp maps, and then with just Simple Trainer to enable mp maps and it does not cause a crash. Not one other person has reported a crash with my mod either.

@pr-boy What other mods or scripts do you have installed?

RE: Opening gatesposted in General Modding Discussion
@Dogamizer Interesting idea, I'll have to check out your mod when it's released. Does it also work on doors and gates that auto open? It would also be good to have a way for people to add custom doors and gates, because I almost always have to make custom ones for the areas I have mlo projects going on.

RE: issues with mlo..........posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
@pr-boy Did you remove the other mlos before adding mine, because i can guarantee mine doesn't cause crashes. What mods other than the mlos do you have installed?
Also, do you install many mods at one time or do you install one and test it thoroughly before adding another one? Installing one and testing thoroughly before adding another will help you to know what causes crashes.

RE: issues with mlo..........posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
@pr-boy said in issues with mlo..........:
@chonkie please give me the link what you are using, i wanna test that.
I do think some of the ones you installed indeed do cause issues. Check the comments section of the mods to see if other people have issues with them causing crashes. Like I know for sure the pet shop one causes crashes, it was poorly made.
If I'm not mistaken, most of the mlos by MrBrown cause crashes. Here is the link to my mlo. -
RE: Opening gatesposted in General Modding Discussion
@Dogamizer Just an update since I recently had to edit the doortuning.meta and .ymt, i did find a flag called DelayDoorClosingForPlayer, although it really doesn't seem to do much and i haven't seen any value in the meta or ymt that allows you to control how long the delay is for. I'm currently testing things out on a new door. I'll update if I find out anything else about this.

RE: issues with mlo..........posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
@pr-boy It isn't all Mlos. Mine doesn't cause crashes and many others do not cause crashes. Some do, but you probably have other issues.

@Rebel420 Yeah, biggest tip for the future is to only install a single mod and test it thoroughly before adding another. Makes troubleshooting much easier.

RE: How can i make openable addon garage doors for gtaposted in General Modding Discussion
@Owen-Mods. You should be making the mod a mlo so you don't have certain issues.
Also if you decide not to go the mlo route, don't tag your mod as an interior when you upload it.
This website can teach you a lot about mlo and general map modding. https://dekurwinator-mods.bitrix24.site/But basically, you add a vanilla garage door to your mod. It should work fine if you do nothing else to it. There are things you can do to change it's behavior or how it opens if you want to dig deeper into the files and flags. That website i linked has a flag section. Doortuning.meta and doortuning.ymt will change some of the behavior aspects. I recommend if you want to edit the doortuning, to make a copy of and rename the door you want to use before you make a new doortuning entry that way you don't affect the other vanilla doors in the game.

RE: MP Map/Online Map Enable CRASH!!!!posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
@Suprememes It sucks deleting everything and starting over from scratch, but sometimes that really is the quickest and less frustrating thing to do. I recently was trying to figure out why my game randomly started crashing. After many hours of trying to remove certain things and restarting the game to see if the crash was gone, even with removing the last few mods i installed as the first step, it still was crashing. I ended up starting over and it took me less time to reinstall the things i really wanted than it did trying to find the specific reason for the crash. I just didn't install the last few things i installed before the crashing started. That also reinforced my method of only installing one mod at a time and thoroughly testing that it doesn't cause issues before installing the next mod. Sometimes i get too confident and install many at once and I know i shouldn't do that.

RE: How do I uninstall an OIV package that doesn't have an uninstaller?posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
Another alternative option, if the oiv installer installed dlcpacks or certain x64a.rpf-x64w.rpf into your mods folder and there are no other edits to those dlcpacks or rpfs for other mods, you can simply delete the folder or rpf file from the mods folder to remove what the oiv installer installed. No need to replace files in that situation.

RE: Mods Slow down game dramaticallyposted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
@2random_words You sure about not having anything else installed beside scripthookV? From what I understand, it shouldn't cause fps loss because it doesn't do anything but allow scripts to be loaded and work. Now some scripts may cause fps loss. Seems like something more serious for you to go down to 30fps on the lowest settings.

RE: How do I uninstall an OIV package that doesn't have an uninstaller?posted in Installation Help & Troubleshooting
@PhantomFire89 You can open the assembly.xml file of the OIV installer to see what files were installed and where they were placed. Just put the vanilla files back into those locations.
