After some testing, I've been able to pinpoint that the culprit must be a mod inside update.rpf. I removed everything else and the game kept crashing. Removing update.rpf fixed the issue for now. I can also confirm it isn't VisualIV as I removed the mods folder, installed VisualIV and the game worked fine. I guess we'll have to replace update.rpf with the clean copy.
