Copied version as in, a direct copy of the steam application folder. I tried to mod this version but no mods on it seem to work

Hi ya'll

I am having troubles with activating mods on gta 5 using OpenIV and a copied version of gta 5.
The copied version runs perfectly fine, yet when i press f4 (button to have your trainer pop up) nothing happens. I did everything that every tutorial told me to do but i can't seem to get it to work?
