I've got use to extracting oiv addon vehicles and just doing it manually. I'm hoping to start taking advantage of the automatic oiv thing, but for now installing manuallys been working great.

@TheMurderousCricket I hear ya. I so want to get Map Builder Mod going too, but once I got that brick I got real cautious.I'm glad to see a little activity here. I asked a couple questions, but I didn't get an answer. I was kinda sad, but I prevailed just by sleuthing myself. I really want to install this bad https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/realistic-driving-v#comments_tab but once again it's one of those OIV files so I'm not sure if I want to even go there. Seems like I've had success manually installing stuff. The map mod builder didn't have an uninstaller oiv I believe so I just followed this and did #2 https://www.patreon.com/posts/how-to-uninstall-17443084. For the Realistic Driving Mod that seems to come with an OIV uninstaller so I kind of like that. I'm not sure if this Realistic Driving Mod does like Map Builder and installs another Gameconfig although it doesnt say anything. I feel like being real cautious with these oiv's for a while. Maybe learn a bit more about the whole process. Other then that I been enjoying eveything so far, and its been pretty damn smooth.

RE: Be EXTREMELY careful while installing .oiv packages and always backup your entire game folder (Yes all of it except folders and x64..., not just mods folder)
Your right. OIV file bricked my game. Map Builder Mod In Particular. Once I took it off everything worked fine. I'm not gonna probably waste time with OIVS. Even though there claimed to be safe I'd beg to differ. Even with the Map Builder Mod it suppposedly installs a gameconfig for claimed "Stability", but I think that was what bricked me rather then the mod itself. I already have quite a bit going on, and I dont want to go through that again so I'm def avoiding the OIVS. Not to mention I have the Epic Games store version so it seems to vary from which version people have. Everything non oiv has worked great though. Menyoo, NET,Simple Trainer,Scripthook, Map editor, all my addon cars, etc, etc. I already have all the basics in line mod folder, oiv, etc, etc so that had nothing to do with it. Pure simple fact of the config that came with map builder mod crashing my system. I could probably try to install and use another config, but I dont know if I want to take the risk. I really want the map builder going, but I can get away with map editor and menyoo for that stuff. Maybe the developer will update it for use with Epic Games store. I'm on version 1.0.1868.4 if that make any difference.

To Patch or Not To Patch?? Let Me Know Whats Up.
What's up?? I'll keep this one short and sweet unlike my last intro/help post that might have been too much for you guys. lol!!! I'm playing in Single Player Offline mode. I think I only got online once to create my initial character and that was it. I noticed today there was talks of a patch. Do I need to apply this or not?? Everythings working great, and the patch seems to apply to something for GTA online in regards to Los Santos Customs. This is what I'm talking about https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/news-huge-changes-made-los-santos-customs-combatting-gta-online-griefers something tells me I dont need to patch since I'm just offline, but I'm wondering if I should. I did notice a rockstart launcher update a few days ago, but I have my settings in the Epic Game Launcher to not auto-update GTA V so my mods dont just break, or so I dont have to reapply them. Let me know whats up, but somethings telling me since I'm good to go where I'm at that I wouldn't need to/don't have to patch. I'm using the Epic Games Store version 1.0.1868.4. Seems like this patch might just be for that Los Santos Custom Issue there trying to resolve. Not sure if theres any optimization patches or stabilization patches or what anymore. This far into the game there probably just patching stuff like in the link. Any info would be great though. I'm wondering if any of you are going to apply this patch?? Not sure what benefits, or why one would patch if there not online and offline modded. I may have answered my own question, but its def not bad to hear what everybody else might do in regards to this.

Hi Everyone. My first question/post for help for GTA V backup.Screenshots Included.
Hi everyone what's good?? Just taking it easy over here. I'm new to the GTA V bandwagon and this is my first post and will probably be quite long because I'm explaining what I've ran into. If this is in the wrong thread I apologize. I took advantage of the free epic games store giveaway and been rocking it ever since. I know people have had trouble with getting the mods to work with the Epic games version, but I've had rather good success. I've got everything to work except the map builder oiv (which when reading it says it installs a aftermarket gameconfig and I installed another gameconfig that was recommended for the Epic Games launcher so maybe that conflicted with map builder oiv. I did find that config here but I cant remember where) I was able to uninstall map builder oiv and get back to my game with no problem. I had another crash with adding on 2 Addon cars. Not sure if it had to do with parking them in the SPG garage mod or not, but once I manually removed them from my dlcpacks directory my game worked again. The floor they were on in SPG said there was an error, but the other cars on that floor are still there.I do have a good selection of stuff on here for a noob GTA V modder. Menyoo, Simple Trainer, Enhanced Native Trainer, SPG Mod, Auto show and workshop, vechicle control system and a few others plus like about 8 addoncars, although the last few addoncars I tried to add have crashed my game for some reason. Same way as installing the others so I'm not sure whats up. It would work fine after adding them, but then upon a restart it would crash/not load.
I repeated the process a few times for ever car and same thing. Worked fine after install, but game would not load after restart so had to take them off one by one and it was about 4 or 5 of em.I heard something about merging the dlclist for more addoncars or the directorys or something like that on yt, so I have to do my homework. Maybe I met my limit that way and might have to look into that. I'm not sure though because I got the first 5 floors of one of the garages from the SPG garage mod filled and then those cars that had crashed my game were on the 6th floor. It seems to still work though. I'm sure theres an spg.ini or something like that I have to look for, Maybe take them out of it so they dont show up on the 6th floor and I dont get that error. Other then that everythings been pretty smooth. Map editor seems to work how it should so thats cool. I'm getting an API unresolved error now when I press f4 which also brings up ENT. I press F4 again to close script prompt, but I didn't get that error before. I'm thinking it could be maybe with one of the last mods I installed. I got some working version of scripthookv, but I'm not sure if theres been an update since or something else caused it. I;m not worried because everything seems to work good. One of the graphics mods has to be soon, but I have to take my time on that. Maybe take some other things off so there would be less conflict (if any) with that. I don't have any intentions on going online anytime soon so I'm cool with all the moddding has to offer.
I probably should have did a backup before I modded, but I think I probably should get one going now so I dont have to manually go and take things out if I have a game crash again, in which case with all the modding that could be a possibility, and in general just so I have one. I am using the Epic gamestore and version 1.0.1868.4 if that makes any difference, and the first day I installed it I right away went and disabled updates so I dont get a surprise update that crashes my game cause of the mods. I see a no GTAVlauncer program, but I may wait on that. There was a surprise rockstar launcher update a few days ago, and luckily it did not affect my mods so everything was good. I did do a mod folder from OIV and I always make sure to turn edit on when doing things that have to change something in the directories. I'm new to GTA V modding, but def not new to Homebrew and Modding/Hacking. I been doing that before some of y'all were even born. Not really maybe that long, but the first machine I did mod was the OG Xbox when the first mods came out for it. Was XBMC4XBOX before it became Kodi4XBOX and then Kodi. That period for me seemed to be about 2002-2007 ish, so that was some time agao. It wasn't for gaming or any of that. I purely used it for SMB streaming from my windows 7 to OG Xbox in Kodi. I have 4 of em still, although I dont use them anymore as my main one now is the Nvidia Shield Android TV.
Anyway sorry to get off track lol!!! 😁, but now on to the issue at hand. What do I backup.?? I really dont care about the mods. In all honesty I know I could reapply those again if my game crashes, backtrack, etc, etc. More concerning is my save progress though. I'm not sure where that is or what directory/ies I'd have to backup, etc, etc. I'm looking all over and I see different things, but I hear the mods folder and update/update.rpf folders are good to back up. I don't want the whole everything backed up, just what I need. A few gbs are something you know. No need to waste extra space if I dont have too, although I got it. Is this what I need to backup from my screenshots. Some people say the whole game directory, but if I do get a crash I would just like to recover my current state. Kinda like I've had to do with the few that have crashed me. Here's the screenshots of what I backed up. Let your boy know whats good, The mods is my directory ( I miss some files but you know where thats at) The one labeld save stuff is the 2 I actually saved and inside the mods folder is as the name says. I know If If I needed to I could bring these in if there was a major crash, do a verfiy from epic somehow and be back up, but I really think I'm pretty good for now, and most crashes I seem just to backtrack the last mod or to or three I put on until everything works again. Any help would be much appreciated. Looking forward to more adventures modding. I may even get into that fivem stuff but I feel like I'm cool on it for now with just everything I have (I;m only about 35% into base game so thats whats up), I def would like to play with others and since I have the time on my hands now I might as well see whats good with it.Word.

RE: Which programs do I need to replace a car in GTA V Epic version?
I'm new too. Took advantage of the epic games launcher and been having a blast. I got everything working fine. I'm not sure what you mean by "replacing cars", but once you get the trainer installed you can spawn cars you don't have. I have quite a few trainers installed and a few mods and addon cars. This video was the one that worked out for me
This is a newer video but they go hand in hand. I have the sp garage mod too and it's worked great. He has links on how to install all the trainers as well. Really if all you want is more cars a trainer seems to work because you can spawn from a list it has of several types of vehicles and there's alot you don't have in the story mode. I have scripthook, enhanced native trainer, simple trainer, menyoo, and there all mapped accordingly. F3 opens simple trainer. I think F4 used to close it, but I assigned like F9 or F10 because I think F4 is mapped to Enhanced Trainer and when I was pressing F4 it would open both simple trainer and Enhanced Native Trainer, so now F4 just opens and closes Enhanced Trainer but I think it actually opens the scripthook v net prompt itself cause I see the script prompt line in which I can close by pressing f4 again or esc. F6 does airbarke mode where you can fly and do some crazy stuff in which I dont use. F7 opens the map editor. F8 Opens Menyoo Trainer. F9 seems to open Menyoo's Object Spooner/Spawner or whatever its called, and F10 closes simple native trainer. I play with a controller and find my self rb and left dpad left at the same time which opens Menyoo trainer. From there you can go to vehicle options and spawn as you wish. Always make sure to get the latest updates for these programs, as I know some of these programs were updated to work with the Epic Games Launcher so def look for the latest working ones when you research. Other then that it's pretty straight forward. The only issued I've had are with this one https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/map-builder#comments_tab in which my game kept crashing. Not sure what it was, but it wouldn't even load. I'm thinking it might not have been updated to work with the latest Epic Games Launcher version. Once I uninstalled it everything seemed to work fine again. I also have auto-update off for it in epic games launcher so I dont get a surprise update that messes up my mods. There was an update a few days ago it seemed like with the Rockstar launcher, but my game seemed fine after the update so that was good. I also had problems with a few addon cars in where you have to drag the dlc packs into a certain part and edit the dlclist.xml with openiv. They didn't say exactly how to write this part
dlcpacks:/----/
as I think I seen ones that were also like this
dlcpacks:/----/<\Item> or vice verse
dlcpacks:/----
as I noticed some are different ,so I just backtracked and figured those were the culprits I deleted there dlc pack and the entry from the dlclist.xml and needless to say my game is working fine again. At this point the the trainers offer more then I need so I think I'm good for now. It's as easy as pretty much dragging the files in your gta v folder where your game exe and launcher are and your good to go. Once you use OpenIV on your computer it will install the right stuff for the files you dragged into your directory. You gotta be careful with editing in OpenIV because that's where you could mess up your game, but if you just stick with the trainers and not adding and deleting stuff from OpenIv you should be fine. One thing though when you use OpenIV let it create a mods folder for you so everything you do or when you do manual stuff you can have it in that folder which seperates it from the game folder so you don't run into editing the original files which could cause a crash/make your game unstable, etc, etc. Have fun with it. I have no plans to go online for quite a while and I def want to try to LSPD FR mod and maybe one of the graphics mods like the reimagined or another, but those will def come in the future. For now I have enough fun with what I got. ✌🏽
