BTW, does anyone know if anyone else has managed to make something like the "long take" before? - in GTA V I mean. Before I started making it, I found a couple threads in different places asking about how to do it, but I don't know if by the time I posted it anybody else had already done it before. It was a really long time in-between because of the pandemic.

Frankly it's probably not worth the effort, but I'm embracing the fallacy of "sunken cost" - it's as good a hobby as any, but honestly, I probably should do something productive with my life.

People are on here showing off their modeling skills and making bank, and I'm trying to make a machinima no one will watch. Such is life, I suppose.

I "figured out" what the problem was, I guess.... It seems Open IV, possibly due to a glitch(?) has either become overly sensitive to formatting in a way that it wasn't before, or won't accept too many changes to certain files all at once. I couldn't import a version that had worked perfectly fine a million times before. I had to add items incrementally - virtually one at a time - until I found one that wouldn't work. With that item I copy/pasted the item just above it and changed the information in the copy to that of the "broken" one, and magically it accepted it. Didn't end there however. Copy pasting the last three items together still didn't work. So I added them one at a time - no changes to formatting - and again, magically it's kosher. Kind of pathetic really.

Didn't want to screw around, checking to see if the exported carcols could be imported now, or if I'd get the same dumb error message. Best I leave well enough alone.

I can't believe nobody else had this problem. It's complete nonsense.

@westcoastsosa Hey, if that's all there is to it, thanks for the info. A shame though. Be nice if there was a way to build the character first, in a trainer and then convert the head to be used on an add on ped. That could be a nice compromise. But from what I'm hearing I doubt that's any more plausible.

What's weird is, I already tried this "the easy way" and it sort of worked... but I figured out you couldn't change faces, (or skin color) I'm not skilled enough to understand why, so I figured I'd see if anyone knew a way to alter everything, in a more advanced way - point is, even though Menyoo said my "new" character had no overlays, when I did "apply ped clothing and attachments" all the tats appeared. Even though they "weren't supposed to have any." That really made me wonder. Thanks again guys.

@Ezazeal Yeah, sounds exactly like the kind of shit I'd like to avoid. I figured I wasn't alone. Now, if only I could get someone to agree to look into it.

To be honest, most people probably are from a generation where they don't know older movies and thus cult cars. If you mention Eleanor, (almost) everybody thinks of a retro '67 Shelby GT500 in silver, although that car is just from the Nic Cage remake so to say.
