@JohnFromGWN But you don't experience any folder permission issues after the recent "exploit fix" update?

My game folder permissions only have read permissions for example after the update. I have to set the permissions back to read-write for my user again, otherwise ELS will crash.

This wasn't happening with other updates.

Might be due to this "exploit" thing? It could cause people access and modify your game files remotely. Maybe their hotfix was just to remove folder permissions as a quick dirty fix but idk.

Oh okay! Well I experienced my game was crashing when I did only revert the gta5.exe some time ago (while my update.rpf was updated by the launcher).

Putting back the update.rpf belonging to that game version, fixed it. Might be that I've some something wrong in the past.

I'm now backupping the main files which gets updated so I can downgrade at anytime and continue using all mods including graphic mods.

These are the GTA5.exe and update.rpf and update2.rpf

I have the Rockstar Launcher version. Normally the launcher would update over and over again after downgrading. However I installed a savegame a time ago and get the "cloud save file conflict" dialog. Keeping this dialog open and downgrading the files. After skipping the dialog, the game starts on the older version. The launcher doesn't check for updates after the cloud save conflict dialog.

That way I got it working to play on an older version which is compatible with all mods from that particular backup moment.

Though, there seems to be something changed this time, that after the update the folder and file permissions of the game files are updated again to "read only" permissions. This causes issues with ELS (and maybe other mods which needs writing permissions), and the game crashes after loading screen.

Setting the permissions to read and write for your user account over and over again fixes this.

I'm having some trouble with the latest NVE + ENB graphics mod. When I have a fresh install of them and have installed optional Bright Emergency lights, it all works fine in singeplayer.

However, when I edit a clip in Rockstar Editor the sky goes flickering. Like it gets a little bit darker and brighter when the camera moves on. This is called the Adaptation in visualsettings.dat

I followed a youtube tutorial of someone and a reddit post with the exact same problem. Setting all adaptation values to "0" fixes this problem and the sky doesn't flicker anymore.

However, it works in Rockstar Editor, now another flickering issue starts when having bright emergency lights. I'm getting some kind of dark overlay, which is flickering on the pattern of the flashes of the emergency lights - both in singeplayer as in the Rockstar editor.

It didn't work. Resetting the values of the adaptation to default values of NVE solves this particular issue, but then the sky flickering in Rockstar Editor comes back again (dark sky, light sky, darker sky, light sky and so on). There is no flickering on the emergency lights then.

So basically, a fix solves the issue but creates another issue..

Does anyone have experiences this too and has a fix?

Will post a video of what I am experiencing by tomorrow probably!

Cool mod! I definitely like programming stuff like "gameplay systems" (like you do with police heat, or health related stuff), it has some logic and rules and it's always nice to keep your mind busy and being creative with those things!

@ReNNie Ah okay, I wasn't aware such enquiries were montly based.. good to know. I had requested with some older account a name change before, and it was done within 1-2 days. So based on that experience it was feeling 'long'. Nevermind.

@ReNNie Okay so I understand you received the mails by the contact form from me. Could someone then change my username as requested in the email (to "ModdingWithKelvin")?

It would be more easy if we were able to change our usernames by ourself though. It's just disabled. But there would be some kind of reason for it I guess.

I've sent a message via the gta5-mods contact form some weeks ago but never got an reply on it yet. I also sent another message for a username change request 4 days ago, also didn't get a reply on this.

I also didn't got any confirmation mail when I did send the message via the contact form. I only got the confirmation messages from the website telling someone will contact me soon.

I'm doubting if the admins really received my messages. I also checked my spam folder, no replies or confirmations.

Admins, what should I do? Did you received my messages/mails by the contact form?
