RE: How to fix tuning parts and lights not working on addons or making your own car packs
@Willief23 I'm following exactly your steps yet the game still crashes no matter what. I even tried using the auto installation for the carcols link you provided and as long as I add anythjing from my carcols to the carcols.ymt, the game will definitely crash. Btw I followed your steps 100%, meaning I did exactly what you listed, <kits> into <kits>, <lights> into <lights> and replaced in the mods folder yet I still crash at loading screen.

RE: [Tutorial | Vehicles/Weapons] How to do: Add-On's / Replacer's
@Reyser
Hi yeah, what I meant was you said to add the line dlc_tuning whereas we're actually supposed to add the line dlc_foldername ? Because this is an example of how my content.xml looked like when I thought I was supposed to just use dlc_tuning as per your instructions on the first page:
dlc_JR1:/%PLATFORM%/vehicles.rpf

dlc_TUNING:/%PLATFORM%/vehiclemods/722s_mods.rpf

dlc_TUNING:/%PLATFORM%/vehiclemods/amggt_mods.rpf

So what I'm saying is maybe you had a typo in your first post?
But about the duplicating data info, I guess I'll just have to check the files again lol. Thanks for the help nonetheless.

RE: [Tutorial | Vehicles/Weapons] How to do: Add-On's / Replacer's
@Reyser Hi, thanks for the reply. I think I"m just plain stupid for messing this whole thing up nonstop lol, not sure why either. Also, on your instructions you said to add this line if there's a tuning part:

dlc_TUNING:/%PLATFORM%/vehiclemods/car_mods.rpf

However, I tried adding this line in content (I replaced car_mods.rpf with the corresponding _mods.rpf files for the cars I"ve added) but now the cars won't spawn. I checked how vans and GTAkorn did their dlcpacks and I noticed that instead of dlc_TUNING, they used dlc_FOLDERNAME.
I.e:
dlc_vansmods:/%PLATFORM%/levels/vansmods/vehiclemods/veneno_mods.rpf

SO I tried changing it to dlc_foldername and suddenly all the cars spawned but the tuning parts doesn't work. As in the tuning parts actually appear in LSC but when I apply it onto the car, lets say I apply a front bumper, the entire front part of the car would disappear. it's almost as if it can identify that the tuning part exist but can't actually load it.

RE: [Tutorial | Vehicles/Weapons] How to do: Add-On's / Replacer's
@Reyser I see, thanks for the reply.
From your personal experience, why is #4 better than #2? I understand you mentioned the whole mpluxe and mpheist thing, but what if I wanted to just focus vehicles that are just normal cars? What does it mean when the description said that the pagani huayra can only be done on #4 and not #2? I prefer #4 of course, since it's a tidier method but I just wish to know what other differences exist between them.
Also, I am getting alot of tuning parts not showing up issue. Do you think #4 has a lower chance of it happening? FOr example, I decided to redo the DLC packs and I've only added maybe 7 cars so far, strictly Benz so far. However, my first car always gets bugged out. The only way to fix it is to copy all its data files to the top of each .meta file or the tuning parts just wont show up at LSC

RE: [Tutorial | Vehicles/Weapons] How to do: Add-On's / Replacer's
Hey, so after re-reading your tutorial (I got ahead of myself the first time around), I realized that one of the few reasons why my tuning/lights are messed up is probably because I used #4 but I NEVER edited the content.xml everytime I added tuning parts. I just threw everything into a vehicle_mods.rpf folder. I do have to ask though, does this actually create an issue?
I am now using your recommended method of editing content.xml EVERYTIME I add a car with tuning parts but I just have to clarify as to how much of an issue it is to be lazy and use #4 but still add tuning parts like #2 (throwing them all into one .rpf file)Also, another question is this sentence:
(Don't forget to rename files inside "car_mods.rpf", otherwise, they'll conflict with the replacer car tuning parts
What does this actually mean? WHy do I have to rename files? Let's say I download an add-on vehicle, I would imagine that vehicle to have a name that's independent of the other names in the GTA V game. For example, there's no other car in the game called C63 other than the C63 add-on vehicle, so why do I have to rename to prevent conflicts?

RE: How to fix tuning parts and lights not working on addons or making your own car packs
@ReNNie So how does that work? Do you have to match the cars one by one to identify the duplicates? Or do you just delete them all and don't care about the ones that aren't duplicates. Cus some cars, like vans and those unpopular "normal" cars aren't duplicated as often as some more "popular" ones.
@Willief23 Thanks so much. I plan to just redo this all and see if it yields better results. I have to ask though, I tried adding carcols into carcols.ymt (I followed your steps, copying kits/lights into their sections) but it still instantly crashed my game. It's really weird, have you ever run into this? Also do you have to update the carcols.ymt file everytime you add more cars? Also, let's say you have 3 DLC packs, do you just copy all 3 DLC packs' carcol data into the single ymt file?

RE: How to fix tuning parts and lights not working on addons or making your own car packs
Whta about a mod without a <lights> section? I tried adding a new car earlier without a <lights> section data and realized the car didn't have tuning options right off the bat. I meant it as in only lights, plate and wheels appear in LSC and nothing else.
Also, thanks for the reply. I guess it's the only way to accept this all now. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that I can't have unlimited dlcpacks like last year, and now I have to create my own and risk running into having tuning and lights corrupted. Sigh lol.
Does anyone here happen to have a good dlcpack that is stable + consists of maybe the more popular cars on the site?

RE: How to fix tuning parts and lights not working on addons or making your own car packs
Oh ok thanks so much. THis does clear the confusion up. It's a tad saddening though, as suddenly half the cars (the good ones too, like the YCA mods and all the ferraris) stopped having light and just stopped working entirely in terms of light and tuning...now only the model spawns, but that's the same as having a completely malfunctional car as I tend to tune the car and then store it in the garages provided by SPA.
I've been slowly bringing some mods over to my 2nd DLC pack, and I think it's the only way to fix the broken cars. It's almost as if I have to recreate new packs because despite freeing up some space in the first DLC pack, the existing non-working cars still remain that way
@ReNNie: I have to ask, does this ONLY fix the lights? What about the tuning? Because whenever a car from my dlcpack loses its light, the tuning becomes unavailable too

RE: [Tutorial | Vehicles/Weapons] How to do: Add-On's / Replacer's
Hey, thanks for the reply.
So to be sure, the
refersto the vehicle's model right? So weird that the 918 Spyder mod has AVJ listed as it's name lol. That threw me off for quite a bit at first.
Also, yeah I have ensured that the data are properly added. In fact, the game reflects it very well. At a few occasions, I"ve accidentally added a comma or something when pressing space and hitting the comma key by accident without noticing and the game just crashed at the loading screen, I have to personally go through the recently edited data files to uncover that the single comma caused the crash. Though, such a pity that the hard cap exists. I mean I don't mind creating multiple DLCs, but it just feels atad unfair that we are being capped on # of add-ons and now there's even a cap on the size for a file
