RE: The 1950s-1970s GTAV
Just adding my Bronson ped to the list.
Handling the epidemic of broken rigged Ped models
Should there be a stipulation in the upload criteria that if you're uploading a rigged mesh, that it not be completely unusable do to a broken rig?
What should be a given to any uploader seems to be lost on some modders that will gladly upload any mesh that is deformed beyond usefulness. I for one would never think of uploading anything that didn't 100 percent clear a Q.A test. If I fcked up a rig on a model and it didn't work, I'd go right back and re-rig it again and again until it did. Sharpening my skills and earning the right to tag my paypal on my page simultaneously.
I've seen far too many ped models with screen shots clearly showing horrid deformations in the legs, hands, neck and not only that, I've had the unfortunate experience (as I'm sure many others have had) of going through the trouble of downloading, cataloguing and loading several ped models, only to be forced to have to go back in and wipe the character because the rig was completely borked.
Because of T2's anti modding campaign and their constant updates that break our mods we're already filled to the brim with abandoned and broken mods that we have to sort through. Broken models shouldn't be yet another thing that fills the bucket. I'm apprehensive posting this because it might sound harsh. But some things I believe should be said.
What else can we do other than just outright stating "Hey, don't do that sht"?
RE: Mod Approval Thread
There was no section for reporting mods in the forums. I didn't want to make a new thread about this and make a big deal out of it, so I figured I'd post it here in the likelihood that only moderators would see it.
I reported this mod yesterday afternoon. It contains graphic pornographic material and simulated child pornography as well.
If a Mod could remove this file and give the creator a swift kick in the ass. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
RE: Mod Approval Thread
Been a couple of days. Understandable with the holidays and all. If a moderator could check my mods out and give me the green light, that would be awesome. Thanks ahead of time
RE: Do you think we'll ever get animation imports figured out?
@SLY95ZER That's fantastic news! Thanks for the info Sly. Good 'ol Josh, where would we be without him?
Are there dev updates being posted anywhere that you know of? I checked Josh's website and didn't find anything
RE: Need help to make gta interesting
@jordy1690 If you tend to get in alot of shootouts and want a little more blood, gore and more responsiveness from your enemies; then check out these mods.
Hey @jordy1690. I agree - the default story line in GTA may get boring relatively fast. I suggest you check out the following mods. They will sure keep you hooked on the game:
(let's you take on a truck driver career which may be fun)
(interesting in a sense that it allows you to pick your own, very personally chosen vehicle [and several of them])
(closest to the army guy career that you would like to pursue, but a bit incomplete)
(my personal fav! Let's you drive passengers in taxis and other cars to literally hundreds of destinations all around the map and even set fare / kilometer. Highly customizable code, great fun and a chance to earn a few bucks)
(old-school paramedic missions!)
(old-school vigilante missions! [may be very difficult on high levels])
(career as a public transport worker)
(a quite detailed and complex mod where you take on a role of an emergency doctor. Unfortunately not free of bugs and with an unknown future update-wise)
Generally, all mods made by Guadmaz, LCBuffalo, I'm Not Mental and Eddlm you can download in the dark! These are some of the guys that make the most interesting and fail proof content.
I am sorry I can't direct you to an army-related combat mod that you seem to be after. Note however, that you can create quite convincing "missions" just with the use of Menyoo's options. If you feel confident with this tool, you can create some great adventures and shootouts with just this tool alone.
I strongly suggest you also check out" Los Santos Police Department: First Responders" and "Los Santos Rescue Division" mods. These are robust and very complex modifications for GTA that allow you to become one of the LS's finest - either a police officer or a firefighter. Not army related, but if you like uniforms... You may as well try these two out.
Awesome list Cricket. Thanks for taking the time to put it together and share. I'll be checking some of these out myself
Do you think we'll ever get animation imports figured out?
Others wait for GTA6 so they can play it. I wait for GTA6 so that T2 and Rockstar will abandon GTAV and leave us alone to hacksaw our way through it.
It's been years and we're still unable to decode their animation system? I'm a texture and mesh guy, so when it comes to animations and the state of modding thereof, I rely on others that know their way around it to give me information on the current state of things. However, I've gotten conflicting reports on what exactly we're dealing with when it comes to the animation engine and our inability to crack it and start importing our own animations.
So... What exactly is the sitrep on animation imports and do you think we'll ever conquer this great divide?
