@JohnFromGWN Yeah, it is an odd fix, that's for sure, and it is true that it doesn't seem logical, but there must be some hidden logic somewhere, right? You said openiv.asi instructs the game to give priority to files in the mods folder, maybe that does something, like for example making it so that dlc is loaded at the same time as mods instead of before or after, and avoiding some kind of conflict.

RE: GTA 5 Crashes upon installing Add-on Vehicle(s)
@JohnFromGWN There are still some questions though. I did attempt removing mpheist4 from dlclist.xml on its own and that didn't work. Instead, it was the removing of all GTA 5 vanilla DLC from update and copying them into the mods folder that did work. If it was purely a memory issue, then I should still be receiving crashes as I basically just changed the location of the DLCs instead of removing them.
IIRC, the mods folder only functions because of the things openiv installs where as the update folder is default so my guess is that GTA 5 handles them differently.

RE: GTA 5 Crashes upon installing Add-on Vehicle(s)
@iwansx-gaming Thanks a lot, this actually worked. After first doing the method, I was still getting the memory error; this was just the modified gameconfig though. This actually made it so I could use the vanilla gameconfig without the loading crash when adding cars. I'm not sure whether or not it has anything to do with mpheist4 specifically, but it is worth noting that mpheist4 is like 7 and a half Gigabytes on its own.
EDIT: I always kind of had a feeling that dlc had something to do with it. I knew that banging my head against gameconfigs over and over wouldn't solve this problem. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with it now.

RE: GTA 5 Crashes upon installing Add-on Vehicle(s)
@Sata The crash still occurs when it's just gameconfig and vehicles. The more vehicles, the faster the crash happens. This gameconfig is seemingly the only one that will actually even let the game play, and it's still for only 8-10 minutes. Back when I bought GTA 5 in 2015-16 stuff like this didn't happen, hell I didn't even need to change gameconfig to have at least 10 add-on vehicles. What the hell happened?

RE: GTA 5 Crashes upon installing Add-on Vehicle(s)
@Sata It's most certainly related to add-on vehicles. With one it took about 20-30 minutes to give the error, with a second vehicle it's now taking 8-10 minutes to crash.

@JohnFromGWN I can do that by renaming dinput8.dll right?

RE: GTA 5 Crashes upon installing Add-on Vehicle(s)
Update: I tried 0.1x traffic and still got the crash. So I searched for gameconfigs for a while and realized that Dilapidated and F7YO are not the same person (I thought they were), so I tried Dilapidated's gameconfig. I am now able to play the game for about 20-30 minutes but after that time the same memory error still occurs.
I currently have one add-on vehicle installed and I am able to use it within that time span. No idea what to do next though.
The vehicle is this: (https://www.gtainside.com/en/gta5/cars/147009-cadillac-escalade-2021-next-gen-add-on-replace/)

RE: GTA 5 Crashes upon installing Add-on Vehicle(s)
@JohnFromGWN Do you know any gameconfigs that aren't by F7YO and are recently updated? I have the packfile limit adjuster and heapadjuster, but whenever I use the gameconfig by F7YO (I've tried several different ones) I always get the memory error ERR_MEM_EMBEDDEDALLOC_ALLOC
When I search for tutorials to fix it, I'm referred back to the same gameconfig, and it's damn frustrating. I keep getting told that the very thing that causes the error is the fix for it. There must be someone else making them, right?

RE: GTA 5 Crashes upon installing Add-on Vehicle(s)
@JohnFromGWN Yeah, the game runs fine with no mods installed, and also runs fine with most script mods, just when attempting to add vehicles or change gameconfig have I had problems. I checked the way I edited dlclist.xml multiple times, so that's not likely the culprit for all of them.
It is likely to be gameconfig, but there's no possible way I can find the right one, AFAIK there's not even one out for 2845; though people are saying the 2802 version worked, I got a memory allocation error when I tried it with mine.
Although I don't like it, it's much easier to simply forget about adding cars and stick to script mods instead, sorry for bothering you.

RE: GTA 5 Crashes upon installing Add-on Vehicle(s)
@JohnFromGWN I have tried with this car (https://www.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/land-cruiser-black-horse-kj6-2022-add-on-fivem#comments_tab) but got the same results, comments don't speak of a crash.
The mods I have are ScriptHook V + .NET and NativeTrainer, Menyoo, Winch and Personal Army (https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/active-bodyguards-squads-and-teams).
Which logs are you expecting me to post and where would they be? I only know about launcher.log, which reports the crash happening and it says game exited with code 0xc0000005 (3221225477). I looked this up and found this post (https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/25597/exit-code-0xc0000005-indicates-a-game-crash-status_access_violation) which indicates Windows Update being the cause but it's an old post and I have Windows Update disabled.
Here's part of the launcher.log:
