@DrDecpticon making a copy of update.rpf and all the exe's to replace after the game gets updated

I'm not really sure if this is possible at all, since the modkit id value code from Unknown reads a number which doesn't relate to modkit id, just relates to order in which the vehicle was parsed/loaded into the game, it seems like.

In any case I hadn't been able to find that value.

@ReNNie I did all optimisations on my version as usual. I do that on all cars. I put A8R8G8B8 to all greyish textures to avoid greenish or redish effect in game, so my interiors are really black, gray and white. I know that some of them are bigger then needed but I reduce them only in case of slower spawning or ytd size bigger then 25MB.

Anyway, facegen would be tough as I would need side and front pics(I would probably do terrible)

Sometimes models aren’t meant to created into games like gta, unless someone spends 1-4 hours perfecting a well made face texture, facegen model or Daz model.

@ReNNie that carvariations ymt is from xbox version of the game. So you need to actually modify it to suite the pc version of the game. i actually got the carvariations.ymt file last year sometime but got lazy and never converted it over to pc. Way too many lines. If you look at an addon cars carvariations.meta file and compare it with that carvariations.ymt you will see how they are different. i only needed it to get trevors truck info since i replaced his truck with a nissan titan.

in the future if you need to find the original info out for a certain car let me know. Since i used to replace cars for awhile before i did the addon way i know where alot of them are at. You are one of the few friends ill go out of my way to help out.

@Zievs when talking about glass shaders, zmodeler gives you max specularity level by default, slider wise and texture wise which is a white plain specular like vehicle_specularmap. I dont really see the logic at touching the shader except for detail/diffuse texture

Btw Lee, I now have Jitnaught's edited version of the PedSelector.dll in place (no more 'L' key).
Indeed the game switches back to a protagonist after death and no more continuous loading bug

So I can use PyP to browse and select a character and pedselector.dll makes sure I can continue playing after being 'wasted'. Life's good.

It already has blips, but you can add more, just need coordinates.

I have removed blips for myself tho, they mess up vanilla ones, and overall made craploads of adjustments to it for myself, works wonderfully and easily editable since .lua.

Oh and just be aware of the quirks with the "Jump to" feature, which is where you press a key and it jumps to an entry that starts with that letter.

A lot of the keys had to remain active, so certain keys can trigger some quirks, shall we say. Like trying to get to Porsche ends up pausing the game. But if you hit Space and type pors, that should take you there... I think.

Be wary of trying to find a Ferrari if you're near another car as well... F is the enter vehicle key.

I have also got some slightly more interesting thumbnails as well if you want those as a starter pack.
