I've burnt a CD drive playing Diablo1! Still cheaper at the time than many AAA crap available out there nowadays that you won't even own by any means.

But this one I'm guessing, not sure it'll work. There many entries like "water_reflection_lod_*" in timecycles, but I believe those are related to objects being reflected on water puddles.

@MissySnowie yeah all of this. there are plenty of lists out there of things that existed in previous games that didn't made to V. San Andreas did got the most interactive city.
I expected a bit more from the ocean in V. Everyone was excited that the water looked nice, there was dolphins and whales and stuff, but then there wasn't anything after that. We got subs but they collapse too soon under pressure, little boat variety and activity. If vampires why not mermaids? Or alien activity that ends up releasing the Kraken

It is often a painful process bro. Do one thing at a time. Backup the whole thing whenever you messed with a bunch of stuff and game is still working. Eventually you'll have it broken and reverting to stable point will save you a lot of trouble. Many tutorials are nonsense.
Avoid automatic installations with .oivs, extract them, understand what they are doing and take care to not overlap.

That's the part I don't get. They've clearly put some effort on it, someone worked some hours so a new check is in place. It doesn't affect anyone cracking the game. It doesn't affect people cheating in GTAO. It only affects people playing legit copies of the game while offline. Why don't they use this money to pay someone to clear all the duplicate shit within the game installation,? So they could maybe save a few GB of bandwidth every time any of their 120 million+ users get the game from their servers. See I'm not asking for new stuff. No one was asking anything really, just not to be bothered.

Stopped working for me after a while tho.
Eventually I got error 16 even after replacing every single file both in launcher install folder and in /Documents. Weirder than that I got totally blocked from social club, wasn't even able to access the website. I had to restart my "modem" to get a new address from my isp to be able to login again even on latest version of everything...
It's a major concern if I'm getting IP blocked by R*. Nope, really.
Been busy af so didn't had the chance to mess anymore with this.
My toddler likes exploring the game physics, he improved on his bicycle after going down on very steep stunt tracks, but every time R* fks with everything I have lots of frustration here. From him cause he wanted to play, from me cause I need to fix the shit that was previously working.
Being unable to revert means at the very least waiting a week or so to be able to check what is broken now after the next update untill SHV gets updated (dev-c is back on, so still not the end it seems), but seriously I can not ask my kid to wait a week to play an hour of game lol
