Hey, thanks for your reply again. I tried your visualSettings but it didn't fix unfortunately, and I also completely deleted mods folder and just installed your visualsettings again but it still didnt work. Here is the diff between our visualSettings. I believe yours is based on an older version of the game or something. https://www.diffchecker.com/oY2hNgou
I also noticed that my rain drop value is excessively high compared to yours, which explains some new drops in FPS i was getting. And other stuff in your visualSettings was useful. I'm assuming the vehicle extras light setting being really high is for ELS, right? (just curious - its been a long while since I did LSPDFR)
Don't worry about specifying paths lol i have voidTools Everything and easily found the files. And same for deleting, I never delete, only move out to another unused folder, usually on my files hdd.
So, I did as you said, and I noticed that although the issue still occurs.. the game adapts itself back after a short amount of time... I actually restored my backup files to check, and the same behaviour happens.
This is what i see (with your visualSettings)
First person:
-- if i change the camera to third person when everything is over exposed, it immediately fixes the issue. So basically, firstperson is too slow to adjust the adaptation compared to thirdperson. The same happens when i switch to night - its too dark, then it slooooooowly gets bright enough. Its too slow though, and when random things like firetrucks trigger it and my game gets too dark when driving at 60mph its annoyingThird person:
Is this what you're seeing? Or does the game simply behave completely normally for you?
Also note that I didn't see an option ingame to make a new save. So I just deleted my entire profiles folder, which then let rockstar launcher let me disable auto save. This made all settings go to minimum by default, so clearly it was restoring an old backup when I didnt delete the entire profiles folder. still, didnt make a difference.
Is it normal for the only options in the main menu to be quit, options and story mode now that i deleted the files though? Before there was online, and some mission stuff... will that return eventually?
It should be noted that I previously tried NaturalVision Evolved. To uninstall it, I ran the uninstaller oiv, then deleted my mods folder, all asi and script files, scripts, inis, everything and reinstalled the openiv asi loader, simple trainer, and scripthookvdotnet.
Still, heres a full tree of my install. Let me know if you see anything unusual like asi, dll https://pastebin.com/raw/UdEMnsx7
Checking my game install with voidtools and ext:asi and ext:dll etc there are no leftover scripts that could be interfering. I also verified game files through steam (this removed asi files like openiv) and it was fine, so im eliminating that factor now.
EDIT: On https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/32344/dark-screen-effect/20 i found https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/32344/dark-screen-effect/4. Tried setting values to 0.0, but it just made the adaptation issue come back again. I'll play around with the values
(1)
# Adaptation
Adaptation.min.step.size 0.000000001
Adaptation.max.step.size 0.000000001
Adaptation.step.size.mult 0.000000001
Adaptation.threshold 0.0
Adaptation.sun.exposure.tweak -2
Issue persists
(2)
# Adaptation
Adaptation.min.step.size 0.000000001
Adaptation.max.step.size 0.000000001
Adaptation.step.size.mult 0.000000001
Adaptation.threshold 100000000.0
Adaptation.sun.exposure.tweak -2
Issue persists but is a lot more noticeable
(3)
# Adaptation
Adaptation.min.step.size 0.000000001
Adaptation.max.step.size 0.000000001
Adaptation.step.size.mult 0.000000001
Adaptation.threshold 0.000000001
Adaptation.sun.exposure.tweak -2
Same as (1)
(4)
# Adaptation
Adaptation.min.step.size 0.001
Adaptation.max.step.size 0.01
Adaptation.step.size.mult 0.01
Adaptation.threshold -100000.0
Adaptation.sun.exposure.tweak -2
issue persists, no change in behaviour
at this point im pretty sure only the first three value affect stuff
(5)
# Adaptation
Adaptation.min.step.size 0.00001
Adaptation.max.step.size 0.00001
Adaptation.step.size.mult 5.0
Adaptation.threshold 0.0
Adaptation.sun.exposure.tweak -2
Issue persists but i think it might be less noticeable
(6)
# Adaptation
Adaptation.min.step.size 0.001
Adaptation.max.step.size 0.001
Adaptation.step.size.mult 300.0
Adaptation.threshold 0.0
Adaptation.sun.exposure.tweak -2
Same as (5)
Also it wasnt less noticeable. its just the random car i spawned had smaller lights.
I think i give up on this issue at this point, im pretty sure its game behaviour, im just gonna have to stick with what i had before and live with it.
How can I enable the ENB adaptation? I ticked the boxes but it doesn't do anything ingame. Does it only adapt enb effects or directly controls ingame adapatation?
