Well ! I wanted to install more mods and make content !
GTA V just updated !
Now the game wont start because " SCRIPT HOOK V CRITICAL ERROR " !
Isn't that swell !
You guys go through this often ?
P.S.
I just unchecked the automatic update !
But I can't restore previous version
This is interesting;
I have just uploaded an HQ video sample (inside the one drive folder).
With the settings activated of course.

Peace.
P.S.
I wished RS would have made at least these settings available from the start !
And I hope GTA 6 will......... naw I just hope it can still be modded !
I hope CamxxCore does this mod for GTA 6 !
Peace !
Hello again people !
Good news !
I had some free time and decided it was time I checked if I can use one of the mods to achieve what I want...
It did not take long (I had my eyes on it) and the mod here does most of what I want !!
(extended camera settings)
https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/extended-camera-settings#comments_tab
Big thanks to CamxxCore for the mod !
Oh and his updated version is in the comments section, or here; https://github.com/CamxxCore/ExtendedCameraSettings/releases/tag/Pre-Release
So the settings are really easy to make and I have verified that it achieves to go from the vanilla 0.90X zoom down to 0.80X zoom , so close enough the the 0.79X to not be noticable !
And as a bonus you can even get rid of the speed Zoom !
So no more yo yo effect !
So I put 2 videos here of the settings and photo captures that shows it is indeed at 0.80X at those settings;
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvXrZGj_979ajx3WeGXUllqrm0SC?e=Nk6qHD
So here is a run down of the settings;
First thing is even without the mod the (first person on foot field of view) should be set to full, I have found that that gives the same as 0.79X zoom.
Now in the mod;
(third person field of view) +1 clic.
(third person in vehicle field of view) +1 clic.
(third person vehicle speed zoom) OFF.
(first person vehicle field of view) +2 clic.
(first person on foot field of view) FULL
The rest of my settings are personal choices;
(third person vehicle high speed shake) OFF.
(third person running shake) OFF.
That's it !
There is still one setting missing !
That is the (altitude zoom) !
It is still active and cannot be turned off for now !
But still I am very pleased with how the game looks now.
If you choose to try this, maybe you will like it or not (in time maybe) but you should feel that the visuals are more consistent what ever you do, like if you speed and stop, go from first person to third, in and out of cars, helicopters, etc, the world will not zoom in and out constantly and should feel more natural.
Understand this was my goal of achieving a more natural viewing experience, not to distort and or increase the field of view, but rather establish the true middle the true zero out.
Well that's it peace out !
Looking at my failed perspective correction I said to myself I think I can do better !
And I did;
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvXrZGj_979ajxFURnhiKGtY9VCs?e=d51OOi
This is the way gta v should look !
With the correct zoom and no weird perspectives !
Peace.
Just pointing out another problem that sometimes rears it's ugly head.
I have talked about it before when I used to be "thxo1138".
Images here tells all you need to know;
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvXrZGj_979ajwJ88p53VPDmqhN5?e=pb28ce
But I will say also that I usually could fix the perspective but in this case I could not fix everything it was so bad (the horizon on the left).
Peace.
I was still curious and had to go and see what was the zoom at when you land on the maze bank tower with a helicopter.
The zoom is at 0.75X through out, even after landing and walking around looking at the city in third person the zoom remains at 0.75X.
Peace.
Hello again people,
I did some homework !
So using the Rockstar editor and the OSB recorder I was able to measure the level of zoom used in game (game camera).
As it turns out the zoom most often used (baseline) is set at 0.90X !
I have taken several screen capture to demonstrate this and other stuff to:
They are here:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AvXrZGj_979ajiOz6uKOeyhNjNpI?e=HzqRYS
(you will find pictures of the same scene with either the camera game or the 0.90X and the 0.75X and more)
(I highly recommend you download them cause to use them correctly you need to switch from one to the other back and fort to appreciate the differences or lack thereof, if you stay on OneDrive switching from one image to the other is clunky at best.)
Other note worthy observation is that the in game camera for the "first person" is the same as the zoom of 0.79X I talked so much about.
(When the first person FOV bar is set to max)(but it is not 0.79X in cars).
At least somebody at Rockstar agreed with my observations
Understand my goal was not to increase FOV but to achieve close to natural vision.
Now, what is happening in game;
Like I said the in game baseline "zoom" in third person is 0.90X wish is less dramatic then the 1.0X but still 12.22 % to much zoomed in.
But also the game does not stay at this zoom level (it fluctuates) (you can call it FOV if you like).
The game camera will go as low as 0.75X wish is now below my baseline and is zoomed out.
So the game goes from 0.90X down to 0.75X when you are speeding in a car, bike, or flying, it will maintain 0.75X until you hit the brakes, then quickly go back up to 0.90X ! (from to much to to low and back to to much).
It also changes the "zoom" when you go up in altitudes in a helicopter, past lets say 1000 feet it will gradually lower the zoom to reach again the minimum I have observed of 0.75X.
This is what I have so far.
I still would much rather have the "zoom" stay fixed at 0.79X and absolutely get rid of the "zoom in and out" going on and have a fixed and steady 0.79X all the time no matter what.
I'm convinced if this was achieved it would be a much better game experience.
And while I'm at it I would also get rid of all small camera wiggles up and down and side to side when you walk and run. And also the faint annoying dark halo you get in first person, It's faint but I still feel it.
Thanks for you patience !
Peace out.
Bullocks !
Well it seems I have a lot of reassessments and recalculations to do !
I was wrongly led to believe that the camera inside the "Rockstar Editor" was the same as the in-game one !
I now believe they are 2 different beasts and the Rockstar Editor is like it's own game..
It seems that every time the editor allows you to edit the camera the baseline "zoom" of (1.0X ) is not what you get in game !
So yeah, my "fix" of 0.79X is still great but only inside the Rockstar editor !
So what is applicable inside the editor does not translate one to one in normal game play.
I jumped on this and spent all my time living and working "inside" the editor thinking it was the same as the game itself I was wrong and need a lot of reassessments !
The 0.79X worked in all the tests I did in all kinds of scenarios, on the ground, in helicopter, jets, inside cars, going way up etc, etc, BUT when I finally started playing more outside the editor, I saw that inside the game is a different story and a bunch of different camera settings are used for different scenarios.
So yeah, I'm almost back to square one and may drop this again for while !
So the reality is that in game there is not a one setting that fixes everything, cause different settings are used and not just one (apparently the editor uses only one).
So if I think back and what really was annoying me in GTA did not annoy me all the time .
I mean walking around low to the ground is not to bad, but could change to not so good if you go up high...
What really annoyed me the most was when inside helicopters and jets, (I did a lot of helicopter combat) that's when the camera is at it's worst, and there is often a big disconnect between the helicopter and the ground or buildings, and sometime the jet would look like a "giant" jet flying over a miniature world (like a table top miniature).
Inside the "Editor" the 0.79X fixes the flying issues and you never lose tracking of where the helicopter is in relations to the ground or buildings, it is a solid one to one ratio, This was really getting my hopes up.
Try it for yourself, record yourself going wild in the helicopter in between buildings, up, down, grazing the floor, go crazy !
Then go see the clip inside the editor, chose the rear view, and see the difference between 1.0X and 0.79X.
So there it is, since there can't be a "one" fix for all inside the game play, I am back to a least wishing that the camera for the flying part be fixed like it is inside the "Editor" cause I still know that it is still broken during gameplay outside the Editor.
Peace.
