whenever i install an add-on vehicle on sp when i launch my game it just crashes;-;

I can't modify any RPF's or any files in the game folder at all to install any mods. This is because after I save it, the game tries updating because it sees there are modified files and it updates, causing the modified files to revert. Any way to fix this? Please let me know.
