Well I installed NVE today and the game now crashes on loading story mode yet again.
I made sure to have the HeapAdjuster and GameConfig properly installed.
In EventViewer, I see that the faulting module is ucrtbase.dll
which seems odd.
This is what I see:
Faulting application name: GTA5.exe, version: 1.0.2699.0, time stamp: 0x62d9ac71
Faulting module name: ucrtbase.dll, version: 10.0.22621.1, time stamp: 0xf5fc15a3
I only installed the dlclist.xml
and gameconfig.xml
from F7YO - NVE (SP) was installed - latest build from July 31st 2022.
Disabled the /scripts
folder to no avail - still crashes.
Will try disabling dinput8.dll
to check if it loads vanilla GTA 5 but I'm 99.9% sure that isn't the problem.
My QuantV build works fine but after installing NVE, it is now borked. Before installing NVE, I deleted the update.rpf
& update2.rpf
files from the mods folder and copied them over (vanilla) from the game folder to install NVE on a 'fresh' build.
The very last line in OpenIV.log
is:
10/08/2022 18:06:11.435 [8872] TRACE: [fiPackfile::openArchive] 'dlcpacks:/NVE_carcols/dlc.rpf'
EDIT: Whittled down the issue to the SirenSettingsLimitAdjuster.asi
mod. Removed it and game works fine however there is a bigger issue.
The latest version of NVE causes missing textures almost immediately on starting gameplay (i.e. < 1 min). I have tons of mods including vegetation etc. so that could be it but also have a boat-load of add-on vehicles.
Does anyone know if we can adjust the HeapAdjuster value to above 10,000? I have it at 10,000 currently and it has worked fine so far - i.e. it works great with the QuantV mod - but with NVE I'm getting tons of missing textures and the SirenSettingsLimitAdjuster.asi
mod does not work.
