@JohnFromGWN - Thanks for your reply! I actually use both RPH and Script Hook, but the reason I tried to launch the game with RPH was that it has a convenient backup-revert mechanism... which, apparently, isn't worth much...

I tried what you describe and during my last attempt reverted to the previous .exe, then set "block" for the R*GL internet permission in Norton Security. But upon clicking "Play GTA" shortcut the Launcher started nonetheless with the message it cannot connect to the internet, poor child.

I am back to GTA after a very long time, so I actually rediscover the entire field. It was, like, just two weeks of hassle-free play before this update hit...

@JohnFromGWN - Does replacing GTA5.exe actually work for you? In my case, the Launcher instantly detects the 2545 .exe and re-launches an update over, regardless how many times and ways I revert (I'm using Rage Plugin Hook backup). Seriously, this is totally useless...

I just wanted to know what is the current state of affairs in running a modded GTA V. Last time I played the game was like... Summer? Any "customer care" during past few months that would prevent me from running scripts, Menyoo, VisualV or total conversions like LSPD:FR?

I'm not really sure if I want to return...

For real, it's a miracle that games like "Tropico 2: Pirate Cove", now being the property of Fake 2, do not require "C* Games Launcher". I guess their memory doesn't reach that far into the past.

There is one (rather complicated) solution. It came to my mind first... Sorry about that.

The LSPD:FR modification let's you create characters just as if they were made for GTA:O. After the character creation, you can use your character for "free roaming" without ever going on patrol.

I have heard that the latest update forces you to use C* Games Launcher so this is bad. My mod content is perhaps 10% of what you have (30GB!? Seriously?!) but I still don't want to reconstruct everything because C* says my game is not up to date.

Fake Poo and C* could yet win the hearts of single-player gamers by offering an offline-only update/.exe. How hard is that?

As tempting as it is (especially after an update), I'm afraid that is true. But your point @Aurora11 is pretty much understood, I feel you.

If you just want to put it back in the modded game files, run "OpenIV", go to the "edit" mode, navigate to the right file location and simply drag&drop the required file.

Two years old, but has saved a lot of woes for me! Thanks @ArmaniAdnr for bringing this tutorial here.

I've just started to mod the map itself and was looking for a step-by-step manual on how to do things. Of course, the first time I messed up and got the game crashing in the exact same spot.

Hopefully, this time it will all work as expected. Thanks buddy!
