I'm no expert in the meanders of the new "Cockstar Games Launcher", so I'm afraid I can't help you more (though I would like to).

I'm full of fear actually just thinking of the day I'll be in need of a new, machine and system...! For now, I can lock myself out in the Arena Wars version bliss.

If you have Online Interiors and play missions, it might be the cause of your trouble. Online Interiors are quite unstable in connection with vanilla missions being played. Would that be the case?

Even with the Map Builder Mod it suppposedly installs a gameconfig for claimed "Stability", but I think that was what bricked me rather then the mod itself.

This is exactly the reason why I have never installed Map Builder. Though I wanted to, very much.

If you somehow managed to save the previous game and launcher versions, you may try clearing all C* related folders and crap and do the following:

1. Paste the entire backup folder into Rockstar Games folder on your drive (or any other folder you have used).
2. Run the launcher. A pre-launcher will activate first. Don't turn the Internet on just yet.
3. When the launcher appears, turn the Internet on.
4. The launcher should start to download the missing updates. Wait for a few seconds, and cancel.
5. Turn the Internet off, and start the launcher again.
6. Choose "play offline". The game should run.

I have never updated my game ever since Arena Wars using the above trick. And yes, this is a legal copy if anyone has any doubts.

That is some story @Aurora11. Maybe the guy who wrote that mod works for Take2.

But I also have my suspicions that G17, responsible for LSPDFR, is doing some illicit tampering with the user's configuration too... I was seriously worried when they have announced that they will "determine a way to deal with older app builds". Few days later, I started to experience crashes... From that point on, I have stopped logging to the sync.

Let me cite a classic and say "Nama go f&#k yourself" to any such "creator". Mods are supposed to be enjoyed the way you like, with any game build that you have managed to save. Luckily, problems like these are rather uncommon.

Ummm... Download, but what? Is it the game that throws this DB, the launcher or something else?
