RE: Script hook

I noticed there was a 150mb update on steam, quick question.
Hey guys,
I haven't played GTAV in some time now. The last time I updated my game it said update 1.50 and after a small steam update it now says 1.51. I tried launching the game but needed a new ScripthookV. I installed that and the game launched. Ran around a bit and looks like my mods still work from what I can see. Then once I exited the game I got a message saying "error, unable to verify game data" or something of the nature. Was there an actual title update where I have to reinstall all my mods? Then there is another large update coming in December of course. It seems like everytime i want to play GTAV, I have to update and remod the game. Can some helpful person fill me in? -

RE: (Unconfirmed) Rockstar Launcher blocking rollbacks?
Oh yeah, this crap just happened to me. I play on the steam version. This method used to work before this update.
- Store a older vanilla version of gta on a stick drive.
- Update gta through steam.
- Launch updated game and load into story, then exit game.
- Delete gtav in the steam directory and replace it with my older copy from my stick drive.
- Drag and drop my mods back into the game directory.
- Launch game.
This method used to work flawlessly for some time now. But with this sorry ass summer update, It won't launch my game unless I have my "mods" folder removed(texture mods, a few vehicle replacements and gun stuff) or I just get infinite loading trying to load up story mode. Scripts and .asi mods work though. Very strange.
I do notice that this newer launcher that updates nearly every time you launch this game is way more aggressive now. This sucks, now I have to mod back a bunch of shit and its near 4-5 hours of work and wait for scripthookv to update. Ugh.

RE: mods in mods folder not working
@IreBurn
Yeah, I tried what you suggested and tried launching the game. The dumb ass social club launcher or whatever it is said i needed to "update my game" to continue. This newer launcher is way more aggressive I've noticed. My method used to work flawlessly. I don't understand it. Anyways, might as well just update my game then and look for a day to set aside 4-5 hours for remodding. Ughh...this sucks. Thanks for your input. -
RE: mods in mods folder not working
Well, what I did before was take the current modded gtav and back up the entire game on a spare flash drive/stick drive. After that i would let steam update gta until finished. Once that was done, I would go to where gtav is located and delete the updated game and then replace it with my backed up vanilla copy off of the flash drive. Then drag and drop my mods back in the game directory. That process used to work just fine for me until I tried it with this update. Now the game will only load up if I remove my "mods" folder but my scripts and .asi mods are working fine.
Should I just try to replace the four .exe's and the update.rpf instead?

@IreBurn
Hey, I’m having the same issue as you. My previous modded gta will only work if I remove my “mods” folder which defeats the purpose. We’re you able to get it working without redoing the entire “mods” folder? If I have to redo mine it takes around 4-5 hours which sucks and I might as well update my game at that point. Very frustrating. 😔 -
RE: How to download old .exes after Update ( Steam)
@speedyallan77
Hey, does that method you posted about real replacing your updated steam version of GTAV with an older version you saved still work? That is actually the same exact method I use and it always worked until the stupid summer update. I backed up my working stable gta, updated on steam, deleted that updated version and replaced it with my previous older version. My game has an infinite loading screen when I click load story mode. It only works when I remove my “mods” folder which defeats the purpose. Scripts and .asi’s work but not my “mods” folder. I can’t figure out why. -
RE: mods in mods folder not working
I am in the same boat here. I have the steam version.
My method(used to work fine) was to back up a version of GTAV on a flash drive. Once backed up and mods removed from game folder. I update my game through steam. Once that was finished, I would open the game directory and delete the updated GTAV. After that I would copy and past the older working modded GTAV into the steam game directory. Then once that was done, I launched my game and it worked fine.
Unfortunately I did this method today and the game would only load if I removed my "mods" folder. Scripts and .asi's work fine. When the "mods" folder is put back, I get an infinite loading screen when I load into story mode. What would be wrong with my "mods" folder since I am using a pre "summer update" game anyway? I don't get it, this worked for me before.
I just got this game to be smooth and stable again but of course greedstar released an update that everyone will be bored with by the end of next week.

Changing suppressor models for certain weapons, Help!
Its basically what the title says. I would like to change what suppressor model goes onto certain gun models. For example i would like a larger suppressor on the SMG, Sniper rifle, Special Carbine, Assault rifle and ect. A lot of these suppressors are unrealistic and too small for what weapons they are on. I would like to make it so all shotguns use the actual shotgun suppressor.
I know I have to edit weapons.meta and weaponcomponents.meta. I tried but I somehow messed up and some suppressors wouldnt even appear on a few weapons. I would love some help with this from someone with more experience. Please, let me know if anyone can help or give some advice. Thanks everyone!
