And this is more referring to the add on maps and breaking apart and modifying the vanilla map and replacing it; Don't mind taking the time to grab the obns / ybns and modifying them to replace them, but there's gotta be SOMETHING out there for us noobs!

[Modding Community Needs] Creating add on maps with 3ds max
Hey modders - Looking at https://forums.gta5-mods.com/topic/18075/map-modding-tutorials-an-overview, it looks like many of the posts / videos have been deleted. We need more resources to mod maps; I'm willing to put the time in to learn and then to teach others, but it seems there's a brick wall that exists between people who are map modding, and those who want to learn! This is NOT a good thing especially when modding is supposed to be open source and hold the same values as the modding community - Always willing to share, or help others!
Now with that being said, I'm willing to put a bounty (and if anyone else is as interested in helping the mapping community get back on their feet, help contribute to it!) for the first person to make a detailed map modding tutorial! Even if you're not willing to make a video, teach me, and I'LL HAPPILY MAKE ONE! But the knowledge needs NOT to go unshared!
Thank you for your time;
RE: Just looking for someone to install Add-ons for me. Will Pay $
Just as a heads up, if the add on cars and peds aren't properly tested, they can ALSO cause crashing - Not just installing it improperly; You're probably better off spending the time (rather than the money) learning to install it so that you can KNOW YOURSELF how to handle the crashing and what to do when it does!

[HELP] How can I disable plane engine off in mid-air
Such a simple task, but so daunting in my inexperienced eyes - I want to disable the turning off the engine as you hold the brake button and replace it with just a really low engine idle - This is so because there's no reason that the engine should turn off midair unless there are rare circumstances that call for such! Please teach me how to do this in fivem be it by modding handling.meta or by any other means!
Thanks for all who help!
RE: [Tutorial] | Handling.meta
@V4D3R Not sure if you copied this from the wiki, or if they copied it from YOUR post, but can you please append the following information?:
The amount of drag that the landing gear contains
The speed in which the landing gear retracts and detracts
fgeardoor(front / rear)(open / open2)
The speed in which the gear doors open (which entry takes effect depends on the plane model!)
You can change the speed of the landing gear to be faster than the speed of the gear door, so the gear can actually clip through; Be sure to scale the speed of the gear-doors to be the same as the speed of the gear itself on the plane;
[Site-Idea] Commissioned work!
When we all think of mods, what do we think of? The first thing that comes to mind is: Art; Creativity, etc, etc. I was thinking. We should add a commissioned section for modders to be able to see and work on something that will actually pay off for them! This will keep the economy of the site flowing, allow for modders to take more time to be able to mod, and will let us (well myself's) noob asses to be able to request quality work without the need to gain those years of knowledge in a dedicated subject to gain that type of skill!
Tell me what you think; and thanks!
[MAP]Willing to pay money for removal of the static planes with LODS from LSIA!
For a professional, I'd be willing to negotiate a price for a modder's time and effort to remove the static planes and objects from Los santos international airport so that I can try my work at a mod. Please hit me up if interested! Thanks !
[Help] Want to remove objects, lods, and unload their respective IPLs
Hello all! I'm using codewalker to generate information about a few entities on the map (more specifically the world props at the airport...of course) and I found the name of an object that I'd like to remove. When doing some research, I'm coming across some terms like IPL's, and WPL's. I understand you can't just delete the model because it may:
- Cause a crash if the ytd or ymap files of the removed item is linked to any other files
- Work fine but you'll still have to get rid of the LODS and the LODS are loaded by IPL's, so if you can find a way to unload the IPLs it's gg on you.
My only question is: WTF are IPL's and WPL's? and how can I locate LODS to IPL's?
I'm not using a map editor to do it because it's a terrible and lazy way to learn how to complete a task!
Also, if someone has the hierarchy for Objects (like):
Then that would help me (and others with the same issue) understand as well, but whatever you can offer, I'd LOVE! Thanks!
Many, Many Ideas, So little experience pt. 2
Here's my Idea Part 2. Once again, I'll post the plan, and the steps I know it will take to do it, and if anyone has any tools, programs, steps, or a time frame, post it, and I'll get started on it!
An air traffic mod!
Different flight path types
Repositioning - Quick flights to transport an empty (or mostly empty) plane from airport A to B
Flights - Basic flights Takes off, climbs to cruising alt, and drops to
Long haul flights - Long-distance flights where planes take off, climb to cruising altitude, circle the map once or twice, and land at the specified airport.
Taxiing - This requires a plane to move from the parking space to the runway OR vice versa. after a plane lands and reaches proper taxi speed, it will turn right or left off the runway, and follow the appropriate lines (specific taxi angles vary based on vehicle) and head to the parking space. When it comes across a cross-road, it will taxi up to a line, stop, wait 4 to 8 seconds and continue. If a plane passes in front of it, it will wait another 4 seconds, and cross. This way, we won't have to worry about any collisions. Sometimes a plane will move from parking space to space, or space to hangar (for 'maintenance' or storage)
Takeoffs should be simple. Head down the runway, pull up, retract gear, and continue climbing
Flying should be relatively simple climb to x height. wait, and climb more, and hold. Then descent. hold. Descent again.
Landing should be a bit of a challenge. you have to ensure the base wheels drop first, and let the front wheels hit the ground, reduce speed, and then enter taxi module
The following are the steps it would take:
- Spawn plane.
- Generate flight plan including taxi plan
I would have to learn how to spawn vehicles, create paths, create stop conditions scripts, etc, etc.
if anyone has a way for me to learn how to do any of these ideas, please, let me know!
Future idea: Filler planes - This would fill the airport and make it look extremely realistly busy! This would involve random planes to come in from off bounds, and fly in, and land, and park. Then the plane would wait for a random amount of time, and then take off again and fly into the out of bounds!
